Collecting Your Personal Information
When you register at Akanksha Junction, we collect your personal information, including your email address and contact details, as may be required by us from time to time. Akanksha Junction may, at its discretion, include or remove mandatory information required for registering and using its services and portal.
Using Your Email to Activate your Account
Your User Id
Your Akanksha Junction user Id is used to identify you on the network. The user id is displayed in profile URLs on browser address bars. Other users can view information about your public profile by typing in the Akanksha Junction URL along with your user ID, on their browsers.
User Search on Akanksha Junction
To make it easier for users for find you, Akanksha Junction has a user search functionality, which enables users to search for their friends, based on their name or other personal information. Your personal information in our database will be used for the search functionality.
Deleting and Cancelling your Account
You may delete your profile at Akanksha Junction, through the Edit Profile menu option. Note that when you delete your profile, other information such as your activity feeds remain in our database and appear in activity feeds on our site (depending on the privacy settings chosen at the time of undertaking the activity). If you wish to permanently delete your account, you may request a cancellation of your account by logging a ticket in our helpdesk. We will delete your account but may retain your information in our archives to comply with legal obligations, in line with the terms of this policy. Note that such deletion may take up to one month, and some information may remain in logs and activity feeds for a longer period (generally 90 days). Once you cancel your account, you cannot re-activate it. To be back on Akanksha Junction, you will need to register afresh. On cancellation of your account, the Karma points to your credit will also be cancelled. Redemption of Karma points for cancelled accounts is not permitted. Note that even after cancellation, some information about you and your posts, remains in our databases and such information may appear in search engine results.
All information in our database is protected with industry standard protocols and technology. Our database and application servers may be hosted or co-located with a third party web hosting service provider. Such provider may have physical and software access to our application files and databases.
Information Dissemination and Disclosure
We encourage all our users to invite their friends and contacts to join Akanksha Junction. The invitation mail can be sent from an interface provided on our website. While sending the invitation mail, Akanksha Junction will use the name and email addresses of the people whom you invite. Note that such communication will list your name and email address in the header of the message. Periodically, we may also send reminder mails to your invitees. We may use your personal information to administer the website, provide goods, services and merchandise to you, send statements and invoices and collect payments from you, make payments to you, send you non-marketing communication, send you updates about your account and the Akanksha Junction website, send you Akanksha Junction or third-party newsletters which you have opted to receive, send you notifications based on your settings, deal with enquiries or complaints made by you, and keep the website secure. Your contact information will be shared with other Akanksha Junction users in accordance with the privacy settings chosen by you for the type of information. For example, you may choose to make your email address public but may want to hide your mobile phone number. We will never sell, rent or otherwise provide your personally identifiable information to third parties, except when required in accordance with this policy and by law. Third Party Applications
When using our various plug-ins that integrate with third party applications such as Facebook and LinkedIn, you authorise Akanksha Junction to submit your information to these applications and also receive your personal information from these applications. When you choose to share an activity or content from Akanksha Junction, to another social network, such content may be posted on your profile or news feed page of the social network, along with your name. The post may also contain a back link to Akanksha Junction. For example, when you earn Karma points, win games or competitions or achieve a feat at Akanksha Junction, we may post such activity on your social network timeline, with a back link to Akanksha Junction. All such postings to other networks can be initiated only by you either at the time of sign-in to Akanksha Junction, or by clicking a button on the activity or content page. The text of such posts or news feeds may be crafted such that it may come across that you have recommended the content or service in question. Some “public” components of your profile may be crawled and indexed by various Internet search engines. Such information may come up in the results of the search engines when someone searches for your name. You may opt-out of this by making all fields in your profile as Private. However, Akanksha Junction does not warrant how often third-party search engines and applications will update their caches. As such, some components of your old profile may come up in these search engines or applications.
To continuously improve our site usability and ensure a pleasant experience at Akanksha Junction, we track your usage of our applications. This tracking includes all activities that you perform on the site.
Log Files and Server Analytics
When you visit Akanksha Junction, our server receives and stores (1) URLs of originating (from where you came to Akanksha Junction) and destination (where you went after leaving Akanksha Junction) sites. Our server also receives the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer or of the proxy server which you use to access the Internet.
Usage and Transaction Information
Your usage and transaction information, including activities related to Karma points, donations, purchase of goods, services and other merchandise, is captured in our database.
Communication From Akanksha Junction
By creating an account and using Akanksha Junction, you agree to receive from Akanksha Junction, emails and mobile text messages containing important information about your account and the website and its features. If your mobile service provider charges for incoming text messages, you will bear the cost of service messages and feature updates sent from Akanksha Junction to your mobile device. The emails may be sent to your Akanksha Junction Inbox or to the email Id associated with your account. We may append a targeted advertisement or promotion to these informational emails. Please be aware that you cannot opt-out of receiving service messages and feature updates from Akanksha Junction.

Two-Factor Mobile Phone Authentication
To ensure security of important transactions, Akanksha Junction will deploy the industry standard two-factor authentication technique for verifying your identity. Whenever you make an important transaction or perform a high-risk activity on the website, our web server will send a secret code to your mobile phone. This secret code may be sent either through a phone call or through the Short Messaging Service (SMS). The transaction or activity can be completed only after you enter the correct code on the website. We will never share your phone number or other personal information with third parties (except in accordance with the terms of this policy or when required by law).
All financial transactions and payments will be handled through trusted payment services and gateway providers. With such partners and service providers, we will share only minimal information that is required to complete the transaction. We may also share some information with our payment services and gateway providers, while dealing with refunds, complaints or other issues raised by you. We will never store your credit or debit card or banking account passwords when you enter them on our payments page. Such information is transmitted securely, through our payment services and gateway providers, using industry standard compression and security protocols.
Polls and Surveys
You may be invited to participate in polls and surveys conducted by Akanksha Junction, its partners or advertisers. Such participation may or may not be backed by incentives such as Karma points or other benefits to your account. Delivery of some incentives may require sharing of your contact information to the incentive provider. Selection of users for polls and surveys may be random, or based on personally identifiable information from your profile. The decision to participate in a poll or survey is up to you. After you complete a poll or survey, you will be given access to the overall results either immediately or at a later date, on completion of the poll or survey. The results page or email may also contain relevant advertisements from our advertisers or partners. Polls or surveys that require your personally identifiable information to be shared, will state such requirement upfront. It is then up to you whether to participate in such poll or survey or not.
Your Feedback and Testimonials
We take user feedback seriously. Akanksha Junction is committed to improving user experience of its website. Occasionally, we may seek your feedback about our website and its services. Based on the business feasibility and practical application, we may initiate suitable remedial action to improve our website and services. We may post positive testimonials received from you, in our advertisements in the print or digital media.
